What should have been a moment of joy turned otherwise when 30 year old Patience, a resident of Abuja was delivered of a set of conjoined twins on 2nd of July, 2013 at LUNA Hospital, Abuja. The babies
are joined from the stomach and chest down. They have three legs joined
together, one liver, one kidney and one intestine.” Patience is yet to fully recover from the child birth operation.
The father of the babies, Bassey, said that the scan prior to delivery didn't reveal that it was conjoined twins.
However, Bassey is in a very troubled state as the management of the National Hospital told him there was no hope that they could do the separation. But encouraged him to consult more advanced hospitals outside the country.
